Prayer Shawl Minstry
The Prayer Shawl Ministry will be meeting on February 5, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the church living room. Please note this is a change to the January meeting being on the second Sunday of the month. You will want to bring your supplies so you can work on shawls during our meetings.
While we plan to meet, if the weather or roads are unfavorable, we will cancel our meeting. If possible, the announcement will be made that morning at the worship services. If you have questions, please contact Sue Canfield or Bev Sears. We will keep working on the shawls whether we meet or not.

Dental Mission to the Clinica Evangelica Morava in Ahuas, Honduras
Since 2005, the congregation of Dover First Moravian Church has partnered with Dr. Scott and Lorrigan Booth in providing much needed oral healthcare in the remote area of La Moskitia in Honduras. Each year, seven trips to date, Scott and Lorrigan travel to Ahuas, spending about ten days at the clinic doing many cleanings and fillings, some extractions, and even root canal treatments, in an area where extremely limited dental care options (usually only extractions) are available. Through the generosity of Dover First Moravian and other congregations in Tuscarawas County, the dental unit at the clinic has been updated with modern equipment that makes it possible for the people of La Moskitia to receive oral healthcare similar to that which we enjoy here in the United States. Also, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and floss are distributed to people who often would not be able to afford them.
In recent years, a new way to serve our brothers and sisters in Christ by helping the clinic has evolved. Because the clinic is so remote and operates on such a limited budget, they are constantly in need of medical supplies and prescription medications that are either cost-prohibitive or simply unavailable to them in Honduras. For the past several years, Dr. Gerard Rudy prepares a "wish list" of medications and supplies that the clinic needs, and each time an outpouring of support has made it possible for Scott and Lorrigan to take whatever has been asked. The people of Ahuas have little to rely on except the kindness of others, inspired by God's mercy, and Dover First Moravian has answered that call in abundance.
If anyone would like more information about the dental mission, Scott and Lorrigan would be happy to discuss their work in Ahuas. They are best reached by emailing lorriganb@hotmail.com .
